NL Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer was born into in a family of five in which he loved gambling on different card games when he was young. He found himself getting very aggressive in these card games while playing his dad. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard decided to place higher education on hold for a little bit and headed to New York to participate in some big-time chess. While participating in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s first 2 years were tough as he played extensive hours and lose a majority of the time. He made some additional money by becoming an runner for the poker players. He theorized he could boost his game by balancing his life away from poker. He made an effort to get more rest and focus even more on poker.

The actual improvement in his game happened when he started gambling at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable gamblers would regularly wager against each other. He had access into several of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would tweak his strategic thinking abilities. He used these strategic concepts in the game of NL hold’em.

He also assisted his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. Annie was a superb student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie Duke to move out to Las Vegas and play in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the strongest female players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard moved to Las Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and participated in money games for the next decade. When the World Poker Tournament gained popularity, he decided to play more tournaments.
