Howard Lederer grew up in a family of five in which he liked taking part in various card games when he was young. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest gamblers would often compete against each other. He had access into several of the greatest minds in chess. He moved to Sin City in 1993 and competed in cash games for the following decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to play more tournaments.
