Net Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only participant to make it to the closing game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors anywhere in the world. While gambling on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He frequently plays in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be 1 of the greatest players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amt.. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world might just be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly competes in high stakes Omaha and texas holdem. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in money rounds?
